Who is this for?

This training is suitable for professionals working in the field of child and family mental health. Applicants should have a mental health qualification, such as child psychotherapy, psychology, family therapy, counselling, psychiatry, mental health nursing or social work and have experience of working therapeutically with children and families. The course assumes prior experience of therapeutic work with children. If you are unsure of your eligibility please contact us to discuss further.

About This Course

This is a 3-day training offering a practical approach to key elements of the MBT model. The training focuses on employing the core mentalizing stance with families and implementing systemic mentalizing interventions. Approaches to assessment such as developing a mentalizing profile as well as developing specific skills and techniques for working with families from a mentalizing perspective.
